Riot

There are two degrees of Riot in Washington; one is a gross misdemeanor (punishable by up to a year in jail and $5000 in fines, and the other is a Class C felony.
Under 9A.84.010, a person guilty of the crime of riot if, acting with three or more other persons, he or she knowingly and unlawfully uses or threatens to use force, or in any way participates in the use of such force, against any other person or against property.
Normally a violation of this statute is a gross misdemeanor. However, if the actor is armed with a deadly weapon, the crime is punishable as a Class C felony.
Some cities in Washington have adopted their own laws against rioting. Examples include Arlington (9.20.020), Everett (10.46.010), and Mount Vernon (9.26.060).
Other cities in Washington have simply incorporated the RCW. Some include Bellingham, Lake Stevens, Lynnwood, Marysville, and Shoreline.
